Rather than scheduling time and paying extra to rent bikes, we have 4 e-bikes with helmets on-site for you to use anytime.
You can explore West Glacier all day long if you’d like. Or, perhaps take a leisurely bike ride after dinner, then stop for some creamy Huckleberry ice cream at Eddie’s Cafe. It’s your schedule so you can ride whenever the trails call you.
We also have bear spray available for our guests to carry on the trails. It is expensive to rent or buy, so please feel free to use the canisters we have in the cabin. None of our guests have ever needed it, but we still encourage guests to bring it and keep it accessible.
The same is true with our paddleboards and kayaks! Rather than scheduling time and paying to rent kayaks or paddleboards, we have 3 brand new kayaks in 2025 and 2 paddleboards on-site and ready for guests to use anytime. We also have life vests for adults and children.
So, if you want to take a quick paddle before breakfast while Lake McDonald is as smooth as glass, just grab a kayak or board and go. There’s nothing quite like the tranquility of being on the water and quietly hearing the park wake up around you. At West Glacier Bear Cabin, there is no need to schedule your lake time. You can go whenever the water and weather calls you.
